Who's with me here? Even with Seasons there aren't enough of them!

Does anyone know where I can download some really nice garden plants, trees etc.?

I do! But I have to go find where I got them from...

Okay, so I got some great trees from reflex sims (but honestly, I think I got them off of paysitesmustdie)

I think the rest came from modthesims2.com. I just did a lil bit of downloading there myself, it's got a lot of stuff, actually.

Im definatly with you on this, i must check out paysitesmustdie! Looks like it could be very useful! I hate custom content that just looks bad, it needs to fit in with everything else! Im quite picky! :p

Aussie Topenders have a very good garden section - they've got large version of a lot of the smaller Maxis bushes

XM Sims also have some interesting plants

4ESF (4 ever sim fantasy) have got a nice outdoor pack too.

I'll have a think about where else I got my stuff from, mainly those and MTS2 I think

Do you get as far as the loading screen? If so, do you get a message about enabling custom content? It may just be a case of disabling the custom content so that you can play the game without it. It should list any custom content and ask if you want to enable it.

If the game crashes before you can even load it up, you may have to reinstall TS2 and any expansions.

There might be a workaround, though, so look at sites like http://mikeinside.modthesims2.com/forum as there are some more advanced simmers there who may know of something easier to save your Sims.

I get to the loading screen then it says, "this game has crashed it will now terminate" or something like that. thanks for the help =D (and the paper bag)

Eep. Hmm... has the custom content ever worked? Did you downloads loads of it in one go?

EDIT: Ooh! Just had a theory about your broken Sims. Can you remember exactly what you downloaded last time from MTS2? If you haven't used any of it maybe you can remove it from the downloads folder by hand...

Right, you could try this. Can't promise it'll work, though... back everything up before you start.

Here goes... look in the Downloads folder (My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads) and look for the most recent downloads. You could right click and use Arrange icons by Modified if it helps. Look for any CC from the most recent date and delete it.

I dont really know where I got my plants. I got this cool garden set called pond in july which I use alot on MTS2. i get waay to much stuff in MTS2.

Yeah, 4 hours!

So I've deleted some custom content (Only about 400 files of ugly clothes that I have no idea why I downloaded and then installed in my game) And my roommate defragged my harddrive for me because I've not been able to get Vista's to work properly and I loaded my game in less than 2 hours yesterday! It was a good day.

Oh crappies, I'm suppose to have made coffee by now and woken my roommate up! EEP! Be right back ^^

Oh! I downloaded the ugly clothes because I thought it would be fun to try to use those to learn how to make pretty clothes! Does that make sense? Probably only in my itty bitty brain .

P.S That game sounds AWESOME! I don't have a DS butthat would be so much fun.

P.S.S I've been playing a game called Suikoden IV to pass the time as my Sims 2 game loads. I have all of the Suikoden series thanks, in part, to my Fiancee.... I borrowed his copy of the first Suikoden game and I've been hooked to the series since. I still have it too.... It makes me happy playing it because it makes me remember some really great times he and I had.

I have installed BON VOYAGE. I only have that and the base game, I have added some custom content (thought it was about time I did) I also have some ground cover that you sent me. (Thanks for that). My question is this...
When I start the game a drop down box appears (in Sims2) that says...
"Contains custom content that may harm your computer click here to continue / ignore custom content"
So trying to be safe, I click "ignore", then half my cc is missing.
How harmful are the files?

Welcome to the world of CC - look out though: it's a bit addictive!

Your game will show that screen each time you start up, just to remind you that you have custom content. If you ignore the custom content it won't show up in your game. Make sure the CC is enabled by ticking the box at the bottom of the screen, then continue with the game.
