New laptop!!!!

I bought a new Vista laptop today - it's kind of cute but it's taking a while to customise it as I want it. It's one of these...



It's very small and has a 12.1" screen so it's nice and portable.

so does vista suck as much as everyone say s it does? or have you wipped it into shape?

It's getting better - I had to disable the Aero interface as it kept freezing at random intervals. Since I did that it hasn't really been a problem. I can live without the pretty translucent windows and the 3D tabbing (although that was kind of cool).

i am thinking of buying a new laptop myself since my old is messed up.
£150 thats ($300) for a new screen is too much when i can buy a brand new up to date(ish) one for £399.
not looking for anything fancy just somthing with a Nvidia Gforce 6 low 7 model.

My new Towercase has Nvida G-Force, so long as you use maximum settings the graphics are brilliant, I like digital photography and watching DVDs and there is no slowing on the DVDs so I can recommend G Force 8.

will my desak top is still on Gforce 7 somthing and i am not sure what the processor is, but i am not happy as it seems like my whole pc is way out of date.

Damn right! My laptop is freezing every time I start up Sims 2 Life Stories because it will just NEVER have enough memory - ever.

Laptops tend to be optimised for battery life more than performance, they could all do with an extra Gig of memory, which eats up the battery.
In terms of Vista, I would wait for service pack one to come out. Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear.

Anyhoo, I'm going to uninstall Life Stories from the laptop as I have it on my desktop PC now.

No mobile Simming for me.

so dose the sims life stories have a story line to follow or is it no different to regular sims2 ?.

It's very similar to the Sims 2 base game. I posted about this in more detail in the Share Your Stories Things section, but it has two predetermined stories to play (which I ignore) and a Free Play mode, which is just basically TS2. Not bad, though.

I upgraded my RAM today to 2 gigs. It's made everything much quicker, but I've come to the conclusion that it's a surfin' and workin' machine - no Simmin' allowed.
