I was on my way out to get some petrol when I saw this little guy sitting on the path in my front garden.

I suppose it isn't all that unusual to some of you but we rarely get them where I live.

Just glad the local feral cats didn't catch sight of him.

Oooh he's cute!

I think mum found a frog in the lillies when she was gardening a few years ago...it scared the life out of her (she doesn't like them so much!)

Haven't seen any myself, they rock though!

We saw the same little fella (we think) on Monday night when we came back from Choir.

*UPDATE*

After looking up my little visitor I've found out a few things:

1) Originally I thought my visitor was a toad, but it turned out to be a frog.

2) She is an adult female Rana Temporaria (Common Frog).

3) If I had been brave enough to pick her up, she would have looked like this:

4) Poor old Rana Temporaria is declining in number as a disease called Redleg is affecting the UK's frog population, so seeing her was rarer than I had thought.

Thanks to http://www.herpetofauna.co.uk for helping me to identify her. She's so pretty.
