Dammit! Dammit! Dammit! - Spyware-based rantings

I've noticed that between 8 and 9 at night I seem to have anonymous guests to the forum - I can only ever trace them to the same company, so I wonder if the bots are trying to post? Bad luck, boys - it'll take more than a 'Click here for cut-price medical products' to spam my forum.

Whay is V1agra? why do I need it? Sometimes its spelt Vyagra, is this the same product. Currently listening to:

Chatterbots are OK, but spambots aren't... mikeInside's forum seems to get a lot of them. I think it's something to do with the way he allows users to be created when they register on his forum. It also allows human spammers in quite easily. Mind you, he has over 20000 users on his forum so it must be pretty hard to manage them all.

You can always spot a spambot because they don't reply to existing topics - they have to start new ones. Some of the more sophisitcated ones at least try to start their posts with something like, 'Hey guys, what's up?' but you can still see through them.

I once had one from someone claiming to be a 26-yeard-old Russian woman who would be willing to make me a good wife! I also get a lot of fake bank letters and I've apparently won the Dutch National Lottery three times. I've even had the much-coveted Nigerian prince wanting to offer me a commission for 'looking after' his money.

Sometimes I get ads for \/14gra or knocked-off software too. The fake bank ones annoy me - if you hover your mouse over the links they give you, you can see they're not the right addresses.

My PC's been acting seriously weird lately and repeated scans by McAfee have found nothing. Today I ran Spybot Search and Destroy and it found no fewer than 13 pieces of spyware on my computer. Evil evil evil EEEEEVIL spyware. Dammit!

Ahem. Anyway, I sat down right away and began to write a letter to Bill Gates, via the gift of rhyme...
