My first computer was a Mattel Aquarius, bought from a charity shop in 1987. It was fabulous, except for one tiny foible... I couldn't get it to talk to my tape recorder, so if I wanted to run a program, I had to program it all there and then and lose it when I switched off!!!

Even so, it was cool.

My second one was a Sinclair ZX Spectrum +2.

Excellent Speccy Windows spoof, here, btw. Even the music is bang on!

We had a Commodore Plus/4!

It was great took half an hour or more to load a game, with loading patterns that could make your eyes bleed!

I loved Icicle Works, Tutti Frutti and Treasure Island!

I also loved programming it to fill the screen with my name in multicolours! wootage! Happy days!

I can remember having an Amstrad PC1512 with no hard drive at all - everything had to be loaded from 5-and-a-half-inch floppy disks. We managed to make it work using just DOS commands (*geek*), then I had a 286 PC with Windows 2.0 on it.

Heh, we had to use Works for a while, too. I remember our IT teacher at 6th form saying that Windows was only installed on one PC in the room as an experiment to see what it did. She said it would never catch on!

Imagine teh embarrassment when I turned up to an ICT teachers' meeting and sat down next to her. She said at the meeting that blogging was a passing craze, this Facebook thing wasn't going to be of any use to anyone outside of university and that laptops couldn't possibly get any smaller. This was 5 years ago.

Oops.

lol, blogging is evil, people are getting fierd for what they write on them Sad
as for techy stuff reminds me somewhat of a call my dad had a few weeks ago, my uncle phoned sounding all exited, that he can use his internet it without any wieres, get this anywhere in the house, the same time as his son is using the net upstairs to.
a few months before that he had brand new technolagy that would let him use a wireless keyboard, again with no wiers Hysterical

i know i shouldnt laugh, but i just coundnt help myself.

Even more people are being passed over for job interviews because of incriminating mySpace and Facebook pictures.

Who's going to hire a new IT administrator / deputy head / CEO / Archbishop of Canterbury if their best photo features them surrounded by empty Bacardi Breezer bottles, and wearing a chicken costume with a bucket on their head?

EDIT: BTW, just going to put your award sig back into your profile.
EDIT#2: Done. You keep drifting offline, Matt. Is there a problem?

*Cough* tabbed browsing? *cough*

Nah, I'm kind of preoccupied, too. There are a few birthdays coming up this week and I'm making cards. Just looking at how to make realistic paper daffodils on Martha Stewart's website - she's only showing the kit rather than the instructions but I can get the idea from the picture.

Dag nabbit, my daffodil looks like it's been used in a fight - and come second.
